Memory Lane

One of my absolute favorite things to do is to reminisce. I love thinking and remembering about, well, just different, random anythings.

But, what makes this truly enjoyable is reminiscing with other people. When something they say makes you remember some spark you ave otherwise forgotten. When you and the other person can just go back an forth feeding off what the other person is able to remember. And maybe it's cause I naturally have a good memory, that I enjoy remembering things.
Which on a different train of thought: it's interesting looking back before you got to know someone. Like today, being my friend Kirsten's Birthday (or I'm really bad with dates and I hope you'll forgive me for getting the date wrong, and I do hope you're still reading!!!) so logically I was thinking about her, and how we met, almost four years ago.

Kirsten and I met through robotics. Even though I was a sophomore then I still felt really uncomfortable, because the majority of the media team was seniors or juniors I didn't know, and they seemed to have things figured out (even though most were also new to the team).  I think the first or second time we met as a subteam our advisor, Janet Wallace (who blogs over at Slice of Pink) gave out different projects (I don't remember what it was anymore) and put me and Kirsten on the same thing , and pretty much from that point we bonded, learned Photoshop and Macs together,  and were "Secret Lovers" and Bed Buddies. Although realistically Kirsten I'd imagine you would have been even more nervous/felt out of place than me those first couple of weeks, since you knew even fewer people on the team initially.

I LOVE you Kirsten!!!
Happy Birthday!

  1. Bed buddies = Emma getting her own bed every night at four competitions.
