As any good nerd, I enjoy Sci Fi. Actually scratch that I LOVE Sci Fi. So, with this in mind and after not getting most of the references in Freelancer-- so with a little help form my nerds I started in on some classic Sci Fi TV shows.
This week I started in on the (Re-imagined) Battlestar Galactica:
Currently I've seen the mini-series and the first couple of episodes. And I am definitely enjoying it thus far.
However, that isn't why I'm bloging: about 20 minutes into the start of the miniseries, when Adama is walking through Galactica, he is greeted by various important characters. One of these character, he Chief, is with a portion of the deck crew, however, they just stand behind him, silently. For the most part they seem to be fairly typical minor (sometimes very minor) characters. Perfectly normal, right? Well, sort of-- you see, of the about 3 people standing behind him the two males are generally nondescript while the girl, there's something about her. It takes me a second to figure out why I'm drawn to her.
And then it hits me, she looks exactly the way I pictured my Freelancer character, Kori. Change the hair slightly, change the clothes, and that' how she should look. So I take some screenshots, because at the moment I don't even know who this character is or if we'll ever see her again.
Then I do some Googling to see if I can pull up some actual pictures or information. I quickly find more pictures and information about Specialist Cally. And she still looks just how I imagine Kori.
Of all the people. Oh my goodness. Cally is well.... important. You'll see. Jeez.
ReplyDeleteI do realize that she turns out to be a more important role than just a named extra. But, I'm confused by your comment. I can't tell what emotion you're trying to express.
